Dayna has practiced in Adams and York County for over 20 years as a psychotherapist, with clients ranging in age from early teens through adulthood. She received a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA, and a Master’s in Social Work from Temple University. She is a licensed clinical social worker in the states of Pennsylvania and Maryland and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She has worked at both in-patient and out-patient psychiatric facilities, and hospitals, and provided in-home services and interventions at schools. Her other areas of expertise include individual and couples counseling, EMDR therapy, existential psychotherapy, and overcoming religious abuse.
Dayna is driven to empower her clients, and help them find the life they deserve. She is well-versed in assisting others in coping with various forms of abuse; physical, sexual and emotional. And has done extensive counseling to those who suffer from addiction. She draws from 12-step programs and/or harm reduction principles to help provide clients with the tools they need to recover.
Dayna’s main priority is to join the client’s journey and help them find wholeness. She does not define that but simply encourages the client to define that for themselves. Or, as she has said:
“I didn’t get my job from reading a few books or getting a few degrees. I have had a full life also, and know what it is like to struggle. I know what it is like to fight, and to let go in order to get to the other side of those struggles and challenges. Just like I had to find my own way, my hope is to empower clients to do the same for themselves.”
